Senior
Life Solutions, a program at Lincoln Memorial Hospital that helps
local residents 55 and older experiencing depression, anxiety,
unresolved grief and other issues, will hold an open house on
Friday, Jan. 12.
The public is invited to stop by LMH between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to
meet Senior Life Solutions staff and learn more about the program.
“Depression, unresolved grief and hopelessness are not normal parts
of aging,” said Todd Mourning, director of clinical operations at
LMH. “Senior Life Solutions provides group therapy that can create a
huge improvement in seniors’ quality of life.”
Participants in Senior Life Solutions attend group therapy sessions
led by a licensed social worker two to three days a week. Their
physical health is assessed regularly by a registered nurse, and
they see a psychiatrist at least monthly. If necessary, they may
also participate in one-on-one or family counseling.

The program is open to anyone
over the age of 55 who is on Medicare. No referral is needed –
anyone interested in taking part can contact the Senior Life
Solutions office directly, and staff will set up an initial
appointment.
“We’re proud of the difference we’ve made in the lives of
seniors in Lincoln and Logan County,” Mourning said. “I
encourage anyone who might be interested in the program for
themselves or a loved one to stop by during the open house and
learn more.”
Senior Life Solutions can be reached at 217-605-5750.
