“Many in our ag community have expressed a great need
for Extension services and access to non-biased research
information,” said Illinois Extension County Director Terri Casey.
“This is why we are so excited to welcome Reagen to our team to
offer area producers the local assistance they need.”
Tibbs recently graduated with a master’s degree from Illinois State
University. His thesis research focused on farmers utilizing
precision agriculture technologies to conduct on-farm experiments.
He also had an article published in the “Journal of the American
Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers” discussing the
Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy.
Tibbs comes from a farming background. His family has
been raising shorthorn cattle in Logan County for over 58 years, and
the family has been farming for over 100 years. He was an active
member of the Hollanders 4-H Club and the Lincoln FFA Chapter,
receiving his State FFA Degree in 2017. Tibbs attended Southeast
Missouri State University and graduated with bachelor’s degrees in
agriculture communications and political science in 2021.
“I have always had a passion for advocating for
farmers and helping them navigate the tightrope that is agricultural
production,” said Tibbs. “I am excited to be a resource and offer
assistance to farmers in Logan, Menard and Sangamon counties. I am
looking forward to building more connections with farmers and other
key stakeholders and providing educational opportunities on various
agricultural production topics.”
