[January 10, 2024]  McLEAN - James H. Adams, 86, of McLean, passed away at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Visitation:  5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the McLean United Methodist Church

Service:  10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the church

Funeral home:  Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

James H. Adams, 86, of McLean, passed away at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Services will be held at the McLean United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024. A Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Burial will follow at the McLean Cemetery.

James Harold Adams was born James Harold Thompson on May 13, 1937, in Normal. He was the son of Lois Brandt and Richard P. Thompson. After his parents passed away, he was adopted by Elsie Beare and Leo Wilbur Adams. He married Hannah J. Ijams on August 2, 1957. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2018. They had four children, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Lynn (Sheila) Adams of McLean, Brenda (Dan) Wilcox of Heyworth, Arnold (Alicia) Adams of Platteville, Wis., and Harold (Yumi) Adams of Savoy; grandchildren: Mary (Richard) Wise, Rachel (Drew) Henricks, Sarah (Miles) Williams, Eric (Naomi) Wilcox, Evan (Jessica) Wilcox, Jake (Regan) Adams, Cody Adams, Ruby Adams, Sophia Adams, and Kokomi Liao; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one sister: Linda Kunkler of Arvada, CO.

Funeral Director

James was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah; his parents; his sister, Patricia Hedenberg; his brother, Larry Thompson; grandson Andrew Adams; and two great-grandchildren.

He farmed and was associated with the farming industry for 40 years and retired from Evergreen FS in 2002. He served 11 years on the Olympia School Board. He later served as McLean, IL Village President. He loved his family and was a big Illinois fan and Cubs fan.

Memorials may be made to the McLean United Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements are with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
