[January 09, 2024]     Area high school sophomores and juniors are invited to the Land of Lincoln “Shadow Day” on Friday, January 25th at Central Illinois Ag in Atlanta, IL. Just as one might shadow on the job to learn more about a position, students are invited to shadow the CEO team as they go on a business visit.

“Shadow Day is a great opportunity for teens who are curious about entrepreneurship to come and see first-hand what we do,” said class Facilitator Lisa Kuhlman. “We talk a lot about how CEO is different from any other high school class. But it can be hard to envision what this kind of hands-on learning looks like without seeing it in action. We hope that area sophomores and juniors will join us to experience what a morning in the CEO program is like and to ask questions.”

CEO (“Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities”) is a year-long, experiential learning-based course for high school juniors and seniors. Throughout the program year, students visit local businesses, learn from guest speakers, work with a mentor, and operate a class business. By the end of the year each student will launch a real business of their own. While the program focuses on starting a business, it helps students acquire skills and experiences to be successful no matter what they choose to do after high school.
