Presbyterian Church in Lincoln on Friday, January
12, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.
Visitation:
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 12th at the church

Obituary
 Sue
Beaver, 85, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday,
December 4, 2023, surrounded by love with her
family.
Sue was born November 1, 1938, in Mt. Pulaski, IL,
the daughter of Paul and Loretta (Jones) Moore. She
married Paul James Beaver Jr. on November 24, 1960,
in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Ann (Ronald)
Wolpert and Amy (John) O’Donnell;
grandchildren, Ethan Witting, Hannah Witting, Lauren
O’Donnell, and Kevin O’Donnell; and her brother,
Roger (Brenda) Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Paul; and sisters, Paula Gossett, Marcia Enselman,
and Kay Miller.
Sue worked as a teacher at Mt. Pulaski Grade School
for over 30 years; where she not only taught
reading, writing and arithmetic to hundreds of
students, but also manners, etiquette, and social
skills. She loved the Monarch butterfly, and each
year educated her students on its life cycle. Sue
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in
Lincoln, IL, the Retired Teachers Association, and
the Lincoln Women's Club where she led the yearly
Operation Santa, Stockings for Soldiers Project. She
was very knowledgeable about antiques and precious
heirlooms and enjoyed her time as a member of
Questers, a historical preservation and antiques
study group. She came by her love of music naturally
and rarely passed up the chance to watch her beloved
Lawrence Welk Show. |
Sue beamed with pride and love for
her grandchildren. One of their favorite memories is
that all holiday meals included her famous chicken
and noodles and deviled eggs. They could always
count on their grandma to come up with the funniest
moments leading to non-stop laughter, playing board
games, or to lead a fabulous conga line. She also
loved her front porch, and we all spent many hours
together enjoying her porch swing. Sue will be
missed by all those who were gifted a container of
homemade vegetable or potato soup or a pan of lemon
bars. Throughout her life, she gave herself to help
others and she will be greatly missed by all who
knew her. We hope she is now surrounded by friends
and family who have been waiting to see her.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at First
Presbyterian Church in Lincoln on Friday, January
12, 2024. The service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a
visitation following from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may
be made in Sue’s name to First Presbyterian Church,
Lincoln. Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
