Oskar Sundqvist and Brandon Saad scored for the
Blues and Joel Hofer made 38 saves. Blues captain Brayden Schenn,
playing in his 900th NHL game, earned two assists.
After shutting out the Winnipeg Jets Saturday, the
tight-checking Flyers held the Blues scoreless for the first
38:19 of this game.
They controlled much of the play during the scoreless first
period while outshooting the Blues 13-9 and killing off two
power plays.
The best scoring chance for each team in the period came when
Hart denied Jordan Kyrou from point-blank range at one end and
Hofer denied Tippett's breakaway at the other end.
Philadelphia took a 1-0 lead 1:03 into the second period.
Laughton converted the long weakside rebound off Garnet
Hathaway's blast from the left wing.
The Blues tied the game 1-1 with a power-play goal.
Scott Perunovich moved the puck from the left point to Schenn in
the left circle. Schenn made a toe-drag move to gain a shooting
angle, then Sundqvist banged in the rebound.
The Flyers scored a rush goal with seven seconds left in the
second period to retake the lead 2-1. Egor Zamula fired a shot
from the left wing that popped out of Hofer's glove, then
Poehling backhanded the puck out of midair into the net.
The Blues tied the game 2-2 off the rush 1:18 into the third
period. Schenn slid a pass from the left wing to Saad breaking
down the middle for a snapshot from the slot.
Tippett put the Flyers up 3-2 by dancing around Blues defenseman
Justin Faulk and lifting a backhand shot inside the left post.
