Michael Rasmussen had a goal and an assist,
Robby Fabbri scored, Olli Maatta had two assists and Alex Lyon
made 32 saves for the Red Wings. Detroit won its third game in a
row and extended its point streak to seven games (6-0-1).
Sam Reinhart set a franchise record by scoring in his eighth
straight game for the Panthers. Gustav Forsling also scored and
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots for the Panthers, who have
lost three in a row (0-1-2) following a nine-game winning
streak.
Reinhart recorded the 500th NHL point of his career when he
scored short-handed at 5:38 of the second period to give Florida
a 1-0 lead.
He has 10 goals during the scoring streak as he passed the team
mark set by Pavel Bure in 2000-01.
Reinhart's goal was set up after Detroit turned the puck over
coming across the Florida blue line. Dmitry Kulikov got the puck
Anton Lundell, who slowed up and waited for Reinhart to enter
the zone. Lundell fed the puck ahead to Reinhart, who scored
with a wrist shot for his 33rd of the season, matching his
career high.
Reinhart also joined Radek Dvorak (2009-10) as the second player
in team history to score a short-handed goal in consecutive
games.
The Red Wings tied it 1-1 at 11:40 of the second when Rasmussen
tipped in a shot from Maatta, but the Panthers regained the lead
16 seconds later.
Detroit turned the puck over in front of its net and Lyon made a
save on Forsling, who followed up the shot and scored the
rebound for a 2-1 edge at 11:56.
Detroit tied it 2-2 at 6:15 of the third period. Rasmussen
brought the puck out from behind the net and made a backhanded
pass from the left circle to Fabbri cutting through the right
circle, and Fabbri scored on a one-timer.
