Visitation: 11 a.m. until 12 Noon Friday, January 26, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Marion Eudell Smith, 92, of Lincoln, passed away January 15, 2024 at her residence.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon Friday, January 26, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon and burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Marion was born May 11, 1931, in Lincoln, IL., the daughter of George Eudell Smith and Esther (Liddell) Smith. She was a lifelong learner. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Education. She worked as a guidance counselor in the Chicago Heights area for many years. Marion was a member of the Oasis Senior Center where she enjoyed crafting. She loved to engage in political banter and welcomed any opportunity to learn something new. She was always helping others and had a true servant's heart.

Survivors include her niece Amy (Bryan) Rasmussen, great niece Reagan Rasmussen. sister-in-law Donna Smith, friends: the Glenda Allison family, and her good friend Everett Dawson . Cousins and extended family members also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Stanley Smith.

Memorial donations may be made to the Oasis Senior Center or to the Humane Society of Logan County.
