Joey Anderson and Nick Foligno scored for the
Blackhawks, whose road skid reached 18 games (0-17-1) dating to
a 5-3 victory on Nov. 9 at Tampa Bay. Arvid Soderblom stopped 22
of 28 shots.
After pulling within 2-1 late in the first period, the
Blackhawks gave up an own goal just 15 seconds into the second.
Chicago defenseman Seth Jones outmuscled Wennberg for the puck
in the right corner, then inexplicably tried to pass the puck up
the center of the ice from behind his own goal line. The puck
caromed off the skate of defensive partner Alex Vlasic and
between the legs of the unsuspecting Soderblom. Wennberg was
credited with an unassisted goal as he was the last Seattle
player to touch the puck.
McCann opened the scoring at 4:34 of the first, taking a pass
from Eberle from behind the Chicago net and putting a one-timer
from just inside the top of the left circle into the upper far
corner.
The Kraken made it 2-0 at 7:12 of the first. Andre Burakovsky's
shot from the left circle went off Schwartz's lower left leg at
the far post and into the net.
Anderson got the Blackhawks on the board at 17:20 of the first,
redirecting Jones' shot from the right point.
Following the own goal, Tanev made it 4-1 at 17:28 of the second
on a one-timer from the right circle after taking a cross-ice
pass from Brian Dumoulin.
The teams traded goals early in the third.
Foligno scored on a power play just 39 seconds into the period,
tapping a pass from Philipp Kurashev into the net.
Tatar converted a breakaway at 4:28, seconds after Daccord
stopped Chicago's Ryan Donato on a similar play at the other end
of the ice.
Tatar capped the scoring at 16:22 on a blast from the left
circle.
