On Friday, students
at Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln celebrated their 100th day of the
school year.
In the kindergarten class of Mrs. Vermeire, it was a particularly
fun day as each student came to school dressed in their
interpretation of a 100-year-old person. The costumes were in most
places quite delightful and realistic. The kids enjoyed the special
dress up day and stayed “in character” throughout the day.
Not only did they dress as senior citizens, but they also
participated in some activities that would be typical of a person
that age including doing chair aerobics during their physical
education time.
In addition, there were special craft projects where that students
were to use 100 pieces or object in order to create a single piece
of art.
And, the students enjoyed sharing their projects as they toured the
school, showing off their outfits, talking about their crafts, and
sharing what they had learned about the number 100.
In all it was a fun day of learning that the students were excited
to be a part of on the 100th day of school.
