Lincoln Park district observes Independence Day
on July 3rd and 4th

The Lincoln Park District is once again this year
planning a spectacular event in celebration of the birth of our
Nation. The annual Independence Day activities will begin on
Wednesday, July 3rd with at evening at the Park District.

Held
from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be an evening of fun and games,
music and food leading up to the annual fireworks display.
The Tangents band will provide live music throughout the evening.
There will be games of all ages on the lawn and free kids’
activities such as bounce houses, face painting, balloon twisting,
and rave hair fashion.
At dusk gather around the driving range to see a spectacular
fireworks display.
Then on Thursday, July 4th, show your patriotic spirit at the annual
Children’s Parade. Participants should gather at Scully Park on the
south side staring at 10:30 a.m. Registration is required. Decorate
yourself, your bikes or other non-motorized riding toys with red,
white and blue. Be the best dressed and win prizes when the parade
is over.
Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., judging will
take place at 11 a.m. on Decatur Street at Scully Park. Then take a
walk from Scully Park to the Lincoln Park District.

At the park district, enjoy
refreshments and learn who wins in each parade category.
Finally enjoy a time with the Lincoln Fire Department playing in the
water from their large fire truck. There will also be fun and games
provided by Lincoln Daily News.
All parade participants will receive a free day pass to the Lincoln
Park District Aquatic Center, so bring your swimsuits and plan to
send a fund and refreshing afternoon at the pool where there will
also be fun and games for all.
Mark your calendars for this great two-day event celebrating our
