Jim Hood Joins Longview Community Bank and Longview Capital Corporation Board of Directors

Gibson City native Jim Hood, a respected community leader and seasoned business professional, is set to expand his board service. Having served on the Bank of Gibson City’s board of directors for over two decades, Hood brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new roles.

Hood’s journey is deeply rooted in the Gibson City community. After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Business in 1982, he embarked on a successful career with State Farm Insurance Companies, where he held key positions in Human Resources at both the corporate headquarters and the Mountain States region.

In 1989, Jim and his wife, Amy, returned to Gibson City to take over the operation of Hood’s Ace Hardware. Their commitment to the community extended further when they acquired Mahomet Ace Hardware in Mahomet, IL, in 2004. The couple’s dedication to local businesses has left a lasting impact.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Hood has been an active volunteer in health care. For two decades, he served as President of the Board of Directors for Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services. His leadership and passion for community well-being have been instrumental in shaping the hospital’s success.

In 2003, Jim Hood joined the Bank of Gibson City’s board of directors, continuing even after the original owners sold to the Albins and Longview Capital Corporation. His unwavering commitment to the bank’s growth and stability has been commendable.

Now, as he takes on new responsibilities, Hood expresses his enthusiasm: “I’m excited to join the Board of Longview Community Bank and Longview Capital Corporation as a Director and look forward to working with this tremendous organization.”

Jim and Amy Hood celebrate 40 years of marriage and are proud parents to three children: Adam, Kristen, and Joel. His active involvement in the Gibson City Lion’s Club and the Gibson City United Methodist Church underscores his dedication to community service.
