Obituary
Allen (Ray) Fry of Lincoln passed
away at Springfield Memorial Hospital on July 2,
2024.
Cremation rites have been accorded by LincolnLand
Cremation Society. There will be no services at this
time.
Ray was born April 4, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri,
the son of Byron Fry and Mildred (Hickey) Fry. He
married Kathleen (Katie) Vance on October 6, 1978.
Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. He
had a feeding station for some squirrels and loved
watching them. He had one favorite he called Dot
Head, who came daily to get peanuts. Ray was a
self-employed carpenter who took pride in what he
did. He liked helping people and building things for
his family.
Survivors include his wife Katie, son Eric Fry
(Jennifer Singer), stepdaughter April (Cliff)
McCumber, stepson Dennis Vance, grandchildren Devyn
Fry, Chance McCumber, Josh Green, Nicole Vance and
Tyler Vance, one sister Kathy Diamond and nephews
Kevin (Dawn) Fry and Kerry Fry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four
brothers, Mike, Pat, Mark, and his twin Jay Fry, and
one sister Ann Mardis.
He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved
him.
