Time to dust off that poodle skirt, polish up your saddle shoes, and break out the leather jacket .  On Thursday, July 11 the River City Country Opry will reclaim the stage at Mason City's Arlee Theater for 50's night!

Lead by Stan Edwards, with musical talents from Ronda Brown, Bob Watkins, Steve Harbin, Richard Stiltz, Mike Musgrove, Marc Bubert, Bob Rowland, and Tom Durso, this all-star crew is sure to bring a smile to your face and make your toe tap with the beat....if not make you get up and dance!

This month's show is 50's/60's-themed, so guests are encouraged to dress for the era and be ready to make good use of the Arlee's dance floor. This week's show begins at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 5:45. Concessions will be available, and tickets are $10 at the door (ages 12 and under are free).

Early arrivals in town are encouraged to patronize any of the town's locally-owned eateries, including Subway, Mason City IGA, Do Drop Inn Cafe, Kreiling's Dari-Belle, and Smokey's Bar & Grill. It is also worth noting stores Sweet Creek & Co (128 S. Tonica), Mason City Overstock Outlet (118 E. Elm), Junior's General Store (153 E Chestnut), Sixteen&Vine (158 N. Tonica), The Hot Spot/ Elm Street Consignments (200 S. Main), and Reign & Bros Baby & Toddler Clothing (128 S. Tonica) are all within a block or two of the theater and offer unique shopping opportunities at reasonable prices, and are typically open Thursday afternoons/evenings (see their individual Facebook pages for details).

Additionally, a newly-established food tent will be up before the show: Smoke & Glam, which offers an elevated bbq experience with a twist. Some of their popular items include smoked chicken salad sandwiches and potato salad topped with smoked brisket. Find "Smoke & Glam" on facebook for more details, as the specific July 11 location is not confirmed yet at press time.

Please note that there is currently construction on Chestnut Street in Mason City; guests can still park near the Arlee by turning South on Tonica and then heading West on Elm.
