[July 07, 2024]  EMDEN - Thomas Edgar Komnick, 98, of Emden passed away on July 5th, 2024, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Center.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9th, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden

Service:  11 a.m. Tuesday at the church

Obituary

Thomas Edgar Komnick, 98, of Emden passed away on July 5th, 2024, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Center.

Tom was born on August 28th, 1925 in Emden, the son of William and Katherine (Horn) Komnick. He married Dorothy Buehler on November 26, 1950.

Surviving Tom is his wife Dorothy, son: Lee (Mari Anne) Komnick, grandsons: Joshua (Venessa) Komnick and Ryne (Nichole) Komnick, and five great grandchildren: Karson, Kane, Cruze, Reece, and Raelee.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Marjorie Smith and Elsie Mae Menzel.

Tom graduated from Hartsburg-Emden High School. He then attended the University of Illinois for one year before joining the Army Air Corps. Upon his arrival home from the service, he enrolled and graduated from Bradley University. Tom went on to own and operate BB Milling Company until his retirement in 1990. He greatly enjoyed golfing, flying, and traveling.

Services for Tom will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9th, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden with Pastor Keith Ray and Terry Davis officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Emden.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke- Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
