Obituary
Lois E. Schahl, 96, of Mt. Pulaski
passed away at 2:02 A.M. Sunday, June 30, 2024, at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.
Lois was born on May 14, 1928, in Logan County, KY,
to Ethel and Edna Greer Armour. She grew up in
Trenton and Pembroke, KY, moved to Illinois as a
teen and graduated from Lincoln Community High
School. She married Clifford E. Schahl on February
1, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 8,
2004.
Surviving Lois are her children, Larry (Janet)
Schahl, Joellyn Nall, Jean (Harry W.) Hild, Jane
(Danny) Lewis and David (Sharon) Schahl; eleven
grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
four brothers, and two sisters.

Lois was a Nurses Aid at Vonderlieth
Living Center when it first opened, for 16 ½ years.
She had been a member of the Mt. Pulaski and Lincoln
Historic Societies and a volunteer at the Mt.
Pulaski Courthouse for many years. She also loved
gardening and spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren.
Services for Lois will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July
20, 2024, at the Mt. Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior
to the service. Burial will follow at Steenbergen
Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion
Lutheran School, or the Mt. Pulaski EMS.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski,
is entrusted with services.
