AgTech Innovation Showcase at Heartland Community College, a
partnership between Illinois Farm Bureau and BioSTL.

The
AgTech Innovation Showcase, held Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at
Heartland Community College Agriculture Complex in Normal, is
a free event aimed at connecting farmers, innovators and
industry professionals.
“Innovators want to hear from farmers — what works, what doesn't
and what is practical,” said Jenny Webb, IFB assistant director
of industry affairs. “This event is a win-win. Farmers get to
learn about cutting-edge new technologies and companies benefit
from real-world feedback from farmers.”
Throughout the day attendees will hear brief presentations from
several innovators offering on-farm solutions to boost farm
profitability, enhance soil health and provide practical
regenerative agriculture techniques. Attendees will also have
networking opportunities with various companies.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Rob Rhykerd, a soil science professor
at Illinois State University. Rhykerd will share his research on
monetizing cover crops, including pennycress.
"We at BioSTL are thrilled to partner with Illinois Farm Bureau
and introduce several farm-focused innovations that are globally
sourced,” said Dan Schulz, BioSTL director of business
development. “BioSTL aims to keep the farmer's voice at the
center of our decision making and this event will create an
ideal opportunity for personal interactions between our
innovators and interested farmers."
Registration for AgTech Innovation Showcase is open through
July 29. Visit on.ilfb.org/agtech24 to register and view the
agenda.
