Injury Law is proud to announce Alison Turner as one of the
recipients of the Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship. This $1,000
scholarship is awarded to outstanding students across central
Illinois who are pursuing higher education with the goal of becoming
educators.
Alison Turner, a resident of Lincoln, and 2024 graduate of Lincoln
Community High School has shown exceptional academic achievement and
a deep commitment to education. To qualify for this scholarship,
students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit a 750-word
essay reflecting on the impact of a special teacher in their lives
and the lessons they will carry forward in their own teaching
careers. Alison's essay was chosen out of dozens of other candidates
from the area.
Alison's essay highlighted the profound influence of
her high school Spanish teacher. "Señora Gilbert, had the greatest
impact on my education. She was always there to help and push me
when I needed it. When things got tough, she knew exactly how to get
me back on track and encouraged me to rise to the challenge. Even
now, I hear her voice in my head when I struggle, keeping me
focused. I hope to be that same encouraging voice for my future
students." said Alison.
Onward Injury Law established the teaching scholarship in memory of
Mary Rohrscheib, Onward’s founder Josh Rohrscheib’s grandmother.
Mary was a devoted third and fourth-grade teacher who made an impact
on many young lives. The scholarship aims to support aspiring
teachers like Alison who are committed to making a positive
difference in the lives of future generations.
