Though
there was no chicken supper this year, there was plenty of food
available with several men from American Legion Post 506 selling
Korn Dogs and fries.
Emden resident Lori Lessen loves the Korn Dogs, which she calls
Boise Dogs.
Emden’s Dovetail Inn offered street food like tacos, burgers,
chili/cheese dogs, catfish po’boys and chicken nuggets.
Down the street, the Steg R Inn had specials such as turkey legs
drizzled with hot honey, raspberry Chipotle or their original BBQ
sauce in addition to their usual fare.
Sweet treats available included cotton candy, cookies, ice cream,
shakes, sundaes, banana splits and rice crispy treats.
Games for people of all ages included ring toss and
dime toss. As always, Bingo drew many people in with cash prizes up
to $100.
2023 Logan County Junior Miss Ellie Wrage and her
sister Olivia enjoyed many games of ring toss, winning several
liters of soda.
Ring toss is also Barrett Rademaker’s favorite game
to play.

which will be held at the Emden Community House July 22-26.
Jean Eimer, who grew up in Emden, enjoys catching up with people at
homecoming. She says it is a tradition for her.
Lori Lessen enjoys seeing people she has not seen for a while, too.
Once the sun had set Friday evening, people continued to visit and
play Bingo and other games.
As usual, Friday night was a great night for food, fun and
fellowship.
The fun continued Saturday with more garage sales, a parade, kiddie
tractor pulls and evening activities.
