On Friday evening a fundraising
event for Hope on 5th was hosted at the Lincoln
Banquet Center. The evening was very well attended
with approximately 100 guests who enjoyed a meal
and an
interesting discussion by Chuck Fricke.
Hope on 5th is a project of the Regional Housing and
Supportive Services and is being developed as an all
inclusive facility for at risk individuals and
families, including temporary shelter for those in
need. The facility will focus on folks from all
walks of life who are struggling, including
veterans, homeless, those who are in need of food,
clothing, wellness programs, help with addiction and
even free legal services.

On Saturday, the 60th anniversary
of the Ford Mustang was celebrated in the heart of
Lincoln. Downtown cars, most of which were Mustangs,
lined both sides of the street on Kickapoo, Pulaski,
and a portion of North Hamilton.
The event brought in a large number of people to the
downtown district, with at least one retailer
commenting that it had been a very busy morning with
regular customers as well as those who were
attending the car event.
