Mark your calendars, our kick off program begins June 6 at 10:00 AM with a FOAM Cannon on the Carnegie lawn. Donuts and drinks will be provided by UCB Bank. The Peoria Rivermen’s Championship President’s Cup will also be on display.

Library staff have planned a wonderful program of activities for kids to make the library a great place to read, learn, and discover. Non-readers and readers ages 6 months - 11years old will earn brag tags to add to necklaces or keychains as they reach their reading goals. Receive your first brag tag when you register for a book log and receive one each week with other fun incentives when you reach your weekly book log goals. Complete all your weekly goals and earn a Summer Reading Program t-shirt. The 6th – 12th grades get an opportunity to win weekly incentives, weekly drawings, and are eligible for a grand prize drawing for a gift basket for reaching reading goals. Incentives are provided by the generous donations of local businesses and patrons. Adult summer reading program starts May 20 and ends August 17, information can be found at the circulation desk in the Annex.

Once again we have a fun packed summer planned for everyone in the family. Don’t miss out and remember summer reading is an important part of preventing summer slide. We have lots of books and materials for everyone to choose from at the library. We hope to see you all summer long.
