Bruce Deon Lessen, 66, of Clinton, IL, passed away on Sunday
(05-19-2024) at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Obituary
Bruce Deon Lessen, 66, of Clinton,
IL, passed away on Sunday (05-19-2024) at
Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Bruce was born on May 6, 1958, in Lincoln, IL, the
son of Galen Eugene Lessen and Betty Jean (Manus)
Lessen.
Bruce was a huge NASCAR fan. He was a mechanic who
loved working on cars and loved racing cars on a
dirt track. Bruce also loved Harley Davidson
motorcycles. He loved the outdoors, especially
hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children: Shelly Barbee of
Decatur, IL; Amanda Smith of Spring Hill, FL; Amber
Lessen of Atlanta, IL; Cassie Lessen of Flanagan,
IL; Andrew Lessen and wife Brie of Sheridan, IL;
seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren;
mother: Betty Jean Lessen of Lincoln, IL; brothers:
Doug Lessen and wife Wanda of Beason, IL; Dana
Lessen of Bloomington, IL; Gordon Lessen of Lincoln,
IL; Brett Lessen and wife Ronda of Clinton, IL;
David Lessen and wife Audra of Armington, IL;
sister: Gayelynne Mix-Archione and husband Kin of
Marion, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father and one
son Bruce Lessen II.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
