Brewers explode late to rout White Sox

Christian Yelich had five hits, including his 300th career
double, and drove in five runs to pace the host Milwaukee Brewers to a
12-5 comeback victory over the White Sox on Friday night, extending
Chicago's losing streak to a season-high nine games.
Yelich went 5-for-6 with two doubles and three singles. His second
double, the 300th of his 12-year career, keyed a six-run seventh inning
when the Brewers went in front 10-5. Yelich also singled home one of
Milwaukee's two runs in the eighth.

The Brewers pounded out a season-high 23 hits,
and also left 16 on base. Enoli Paredes (1-0) got the win with
one scoreless inning of relief.
The White Sox have lost 13 of their past 14 and 15 of 18.
Milwaukee erased a 5-4 deficit with its seventh-inning outburst.
Sal Frelick singled to open the frame against Michael Soroka
(0-6). After a flyout, Blake Perkins and Brice Turang singled to
tie it 5-5. John Brebbia relieved, and William Contreras lined
an RBI single. Yelich's two-run double to left made it 8-5.
Jake Bauers added an RBI single, and Frelick later capped the
inning with a run-scoring double.
Chicago went in front 5-4 with two runs in the fifth on a
sacrifice fly by Gavin Sheets and an RBI single by Korey Lee.
Milwaukee scored three in the fourth for a 4-3 lead. Frelick
walked, and Joey Ortiz and Perkins followed with back-to-back
singles to pull Milwaukee within 3-2. Contreras walked with one
out to load the bases and Yelich lined a two-run single to
right.
The White Sox erased a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the third
inning. Paul DeJong opened with his eighth homer. Corey Julks
added a two-run double.
The Brewers scored one in the second when Frelick singled to
open the inning and Ortiz doubled into the right field corner.
