- Wanda Fitzsimmons, 82, of Lincoln passed away on
Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.

Obituary
Wanda Fitzsimmons, 82, of Lincoln
passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski.
Wanda was born on July 25, 1941, in Macoupin County,
the daughter of James and Pearl (Ward) Evans. She
married James R. “Fitz” Fitzsimmons on November 6,
1975 in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in 2022.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Lee
Afriyie; sisters, Nettie Meisner and Mary Ray;
sister-in-law, Janet Saathoff; aunt, Jean Evans;
niece, Katie Overbey; as well as many other nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
James; son, Jimmy Huff; a brother, Donald Evans; and
her sister, Betty McCorkel. |
Wanda was a member of Lincoln
Christian Church, where she volunteered to assist
with Harvest of Talents for thirty years. She
enjoyed sewing and crafts.
A memorial service for Wanda will be held at 9:30
a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial at Zion Cemetery will take place at a later
date.
Memorials may be made in Wanda’s name to Lincoln
Christian Church.
