Obituary

Bradley Scott “Burrhead” Phillips, 69, of New Holland, formerly of Washington, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Brad was born on November 10, 1954, in Washington, PA, the son of the late Paul Edgar and Patty Lou (Yeager) Phillips. He married Alison “Lorraine” Voytek, his soulmate, love of his life, and mother to their three boys, on August 7, 1982, in Washington, PA.

Brad graduated in 1973 from McGuffey High School in Washington, PA, where he played football, basketball, and track & field. He loved playing in Beer League softball until his boys were old enough to pick up a bat, his role then changed from player to coach. His passion for baseball was handed down to all three of his boys, and now his grandkids.

His love of sports was not limited to any sport in particular, it was however isolated to the Steel City. He loved everything Pittsburgh, the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, Iron City Light, Isaly’s Chipped Ham, and Shorty’s Hot Dog Sauce!

He enjoyed traveling (the back roads), camping, and dancing with his wife to their favorite country music. Above all else, Brad loved and adored his grandkids.

Brad is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sons, Christopher Scott (Ashley) Phillips of Lincoln, Paul Albert (Kellee) Phillips of Springfield, and Matthew Vaughn Phillips of Stanford; grandchildren, Ryker Scott, Maren Joan, Nash Augie, and Danny Eunice Kelia; his brother, Bruce (Cindy) Phillips of Claysville, PA; and two sisters, Brenda (Buck) Swift of Washington, PA, and Bonnie Phillips of Washington, PA. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents; several aunts & uncles; and one nephew.

Services for Brad will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the services at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland.

Memorial donations may be made in Brad’s name to Lincoln Community High School for their baseball program.
