On Thursday, June 6th, the Central
Illinois Veterans Commission broke ground on Veteran
Tiny Homes number six and seven in Atlanta. These
are the first homes to be built outside of Lincoln.
The lot space for the homes was donated by Atlanta
Mayor Adam McVey and wife Linda.
Breaking ground on the homes were the McVeys,
Construction lead Spud Newhouse, CIVC board member
Stephen Watts, and Sarah Sundra, daughter of the
late Joe Schaler.

at 533 Woodlawn (formerly Cindy’s Cottage) in
Lincoln on Saturday, June 15th.
The grand opening will include a ribbon cut at 9:45
a.m. with the store opening at 10 a.m.
