[June 10, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Anthony "Tony" Zimmerman, 79, of Lincoln, passed away at his home surrounded by h is family on June 7, 2024.

Visitation: 11 a.m. until 12 Noon on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Zimmerman, 79, of Lincoln, passed away at his home surrounded by h is family on June 7, 2024.

Tony was born August 7, 1944, in Lincoln, the son of Melvin and Lois (Shea) Zimmerman. He married Barbara Hashman on August 21, 1964. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2006. He worked construction and odd jobs for years. He had a business called "Have Truck Will Haul." He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Tony enjoyed being with his family and he liked to think that he was a comedian. He loved his home, but he enjoyed going out and being social too. He and his wife used to love to take evening drives to look at the deer.

 

Survivors include his children Cathy Ann Witt and Anthony (Lori) Zimmerman; grandchildren: Kimberly Payne, Alexus Buckles, Kayla Zimmerman, Skyler Witt, Zach Zimmerman, Andrew Zimmerman, Ashlynn Zimmerman, and Mallory Zimmerman; great grandchildren Presley Alan Payne, Grace Lynn Payne, and Eleanor Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son in law Gene Witt, and brother Melvin Zimmerman Jr. "Lynn".

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
