							Gayle A. Lessen, 91, of Lincoln, 
							passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her home 
							surrounded by family. 
 Gayle was born July 26, 1932, in Atlanta, the 
							daughter of Cletus and Fern (Atchinson) French. She 
							was raised by Molly and Shelby French, her Aunt and 
							Uncle. She married Donald Lessen on November 10, 
							1950, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in 2010.
 
 Gayle is survived by her children, Cynthia Lessen, 
							Thomas (Carolyn) Lessen, Daniel Lessen, Joellyn 
							“Jody” (Steve) Phillips; eleven grandchildren: Kara, 
							Amy, Christina, Rebecca, Timothy, Monica, Zachary, 
							Julie, Michael, Nathan, and Natalie; six 
							great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Deverman 
							and Bonnie Tish.
 
 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, 
							Donald; and a sister, Connie Fulscher.

							Gayle was a member of both the First 
							United Methodist Church in Lincoln and also the 
							First United Methodist Church in Beason. She worked 
							for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital for 
							twenty-four years as the Administrative Secretary to 
							Mr. Stahlhut. Gayle enjoyed working with the 
							children at First United Methodist Church’s Bible 
							School program for many years while her children 
							were growing up. Most of all, Gayle loved spending 
							time with her family.
 A memorial service for Gayle will be held at 2:00 pm 
							on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the First United 
							Methodist Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take 
							place one hour prior from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm also at 
							the church. Burial at Harmony Cemetery will be at a 
							later date.
 
							Memorials may be made in Gayle’s name 
							to Beason or Lincoln First United Methodist Church 
							or Humane Society of Logan County.
