[June 27, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Lillian M. Heins, 105, of Lincoln,  passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Vonderleith Nursing Home in Mt. Pulaski.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at the church

Obituary

Lillian M. Heins, 105, of Lincoln,  passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Vonderleith Nursing Home in Mt. Pulaski.

Lillian was born December 3, 1918, near Altamont, IL., the daughter of Albert and Ida (Leppin) Haseley. She married Walter F. Heins on June 16, 1946, In Lincoln, IL. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1996. Lillian is survived by her daughter Nancy (Heins) Wyner of Lincoln, IL., two grandsons: Jonathan Andrew Wyner of Lincoln, IL., and Adam Lewis Wyner (Samantha) of San Francisco, CA, granddaughter Heather Marie (Heins) Hartung (Graham); two great grandchildren Wolfric Hartung and Gretel Hartung.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: Wilbert, Arthur, Vernon, and Melvin, sister Velma, son Robert W. Heins, grandson Matthew Heins, and granddaughter Amanda Louise Heins.
 
 

Lillian was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, IL., very active in the Ladies Aid Society and the Rug Group. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, and quilting. She was a long-standing member of the Quilters at Heart Guild, creating well over 100 beautiful award-winning heirloom quilts.

Services for Lillian will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.) also at the church. Burial at New Union Cemetery will follow the service.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorial donations may be made in Lillian's name to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
