At
9:43 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6,
2024 Illinois American Water advises
that the boil order for all
residents of Lincoln remains in
effect until further notice. |
City
wide boil order still in effect in Lincoln
On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 12:30
p.m. Illinois American Water issued a boil
order for the entirety of the city of
Lincoln.
The explanation offered said there had been
a mechanical issue at the water treatment
plant.
Residents of Lincoln are to boil all water
intended for consumption. Bring water to a
rolling boil for five minutes to assure safe
consumption.
Water from the tap may still be used for
bathing, dishwashing and laundry.

as it becomes available. |
On Leap Day,
Thursday, February 29th, the Lincoln Public Library
in partnership with the Diversity and Inclusion
Commission of Lincoln hosted an evening of reading
poetry by Langston Hughes.
Approximately two dozen guests enjoyed the evening
nestled in the cozy comfort of the library’s Scully
Reading Room.
