On warm and
breezy Sunday, March 3, the Emden Sons of the American Legion Post
506 held their annual pancake and sausage breakfast at the Emden
Community House from 7 a.m. to noon.
|
Sons of the American Legion member Nic Coers, who was at the
donation table, said there had been a steady stream of people all
morning. |
|
|
While two members served the pancakes and sausage, several others
manned the griddles. |
|
Many people sat and enjoyed eating the delicious breakfast and
visiting with others from the community. |
|
The donation only breakfast raises funds for giving back to various
community organizations and also for the Sons of the American Legion
scholarships. Each year, SAL members choose the scholarship winners
from a group of applicants. Two seniors are then awarded the
scholarships and the Hartburg Emden High School graduation. |
