The Mount Pulaski Honeybears won the 8th Grade
Class 2A Sectional Championship 25-13 and 25-14 over Decatur
Montessori Academy for Peace on Monday night in Decatur.
Olivia Smith and Ella Martin dominated the offense for Mount
Pulaski. Smith had 10 kills and Martin had 8 kills to guide the
Honeybears to the 8th Grade Class 2A State Tournament at Auburn
High School this weekend.
Smith and Martin also had two blocks apiece.
Martin led the team with six digs. Eva Leonard had four digs.
Smith and Elyssa Marten each had three digs.
Ella Martin also won the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award for
Mount Pulaski.
Mount Pulaski (17-9) will play Bunker Hill Wolf Ridge (16-2) on
Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Auburn.
The winner will play on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
