Lincoln’s Paxton Lora wins multiple state championships in swimming

Paxton Lora, a 7th grader at Chester East Lincoln, competed at the Illinois YMCA State Swim Meet where he ended his 12 and under swim season as the State Champion in four out of six events.

He was the State Champion of the 100 yard breast with a PR of 1:13.13; 50 yard breast with a time of 32.28; 50 yard butterfly with a time of 26.42, and the 200 IM with a PR of 2:19.91.

Lora was the State Runner Up in his other two events, which were extremely close. Those events were the 50 free with a time of 24.69, which was only 0.18 seconds away from the champion and the 100 butterfly with a PR of 1:02.26 and only one second behind the state champion.

Paxton has swam for the Decatur YMCA Gators for the last three years, where he also holds various team records. He previously swam for the Aqua Lynx at Lincoln College.

Paxton has been swimming competitively since he was 5 years old.

Paxton is the son of Ismael and Danielle Lora of Lincoln.
