Obituary
Beverly K. Altig, 85, of Latham,
passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, with her
family by her side at home after a hard-fought
battle with cancer.
If you knew Bev, you know she loved her family and
friends fiercely. If you needed help, she did
everything in her power to get you that help. Bev
was the same way when it came to animal rescue. She
and Bob’s home was known as the “Altig Zoo”, and
everyone was welcome. Bev was well known for her
baked goods. Whether it be her pies, apple
dumplings, or other desserts.
Bev leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband
of 67 years: Robert “Bob” Altig of Latham; her
children: Sandra Dunlevy of Decatur, Brenda (Ralph)
Deal of Latham, Allen (Sue) Altig of Warrensburg,
Danny Altig of Latham, and James (Cindy) Altig of
Latham. She is also survived by many grandchildren
and great grandchildren, along with her sister:
Joyce Dringenberg of Pekin, her brother: Gerald
Hendricks of Bloomington, and a dear close family
friend: Sue (Bruce) Lamb of Latham. |
Bev was preceded in death by her
parents, brother: Bobby Hendricks, and a son in law:
Harold Dunlevy.
A visitation for Bev will be held on Tuesday, March
19th, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
The burial will take place at Lake Bank Cemetery at
a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
Latham Fire Department or to the family for medical
