LCHS Boys Tennis wins first match on the new courts

The LCHS Boys Tennis team opened the home season on Thursday and a nice crowd showed up to see the team defeat Normal West 5-4 on the new courts.

Lincoln’s Varsity team won four of the six singles matches and one of the three doubles matches.

The singles winners were: Riley Freitag, Aidan Craine, Eli Roemer and Soren Aukamp.

Soren Aukamp and James Brewer won the Varsity doubles match.

In addition, the Lincoln JV team won 3-1 in doubles competition.

“Our team did a fine job in competing,” said tennis coach Jan Dickerson. “We had several tight matches and tiebreakers, taking most of them. Owen Roemer had a tough, close battle and played very well, with the Normal Community player taking two tiebreaks.”
