The Durable Restoration Company is proud to announce the successful completion of the copper dome replacement project at the historic Logan County Courthouse in Lincoln, Illinois. This significant restoration effort preserves a vital piece of American history, where Abraham Lincoln practiced law prior to his presidency.

The Logan County Courthouse, a cornerstone of Lincoln's skyline since its completion in 1891, stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance of its time. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style by the esteemed firm of Patton and Fisher, the courthouse boasts a striking clock tower and exquisite interior features, including marble floors and intricate woodwork.

"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of such a cherished landmark," said Chase Collins, Project Manager at The Durable Restoration Company. "Our team's dedication and craftsmanship have ensured that the iconic dome of the Logan County Courthouse will continue to inspire future generations."

Over the years, the Logan County Courthouse has undergone various renovations and expansions while maintaining its original charm and character. As part of the recent restoration efforts, the aging metal covering the dome, along with its protective coating, was replaced with historically accurate Copper to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of this architectural gem.

"The replacement of the dome presented unique challenges, particularly in addressing the natural thermal movement," added Collins. "Through meticulous planning and execution, we were able to deliver a new dome that honors the courthouse's rich heritage while meeting the needs of current preservation standards."
