LDN received a second press release and a note from Butler saying
her original release contained some inaccurate information. She
asked that LDN publish this revised version.
The Durable Restoration Company is proud to announce the successful
completion of the copper dome replacement project at the historic
Logan County Courthouse in Lincoln, Illinois. This significant
restoration effort preserves a vital piece of American history, in a
location associated with Abraham Lincoln's legal practice before his
presidency.
The Logan County Courthouse, a cornerstone of Lincoln's skyline
since 1903, stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance of
its time. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style by the esteemed
firm of Patton and Fisher, the courthouse boasts a striking clock
tower and exquisite interior features, including marble floors and
intricate woodwork.
"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to contribute to the
preservation of such a cherished landmark," said Chase Collins,
Project Manager at The Durable Restoration Company. "Our team's
dedication and craftsmanship have ensured that the iconic dome of
the Logan County Courthouse will continue to inspire future
generations."
Over the years, the Logan County Courthouse has undergone various
renovations while maintaining its original charm and character. As
part of the recent restoration efforts, the aging metal covering the
dome, along with its protective coating, was replaced with
historically accurate copper to ensure the structural integrity and
longevity of this architectural gem.

"The replacement of the dome
presented unique challenges, particularly in addressing the
natural thermal movement," added Collins. "Through meticulous
planning and execution, we were able to deliver a new dome that
honors the courthouse's rich heritage while meeting the needs of
current preservation standards."
The Logan County Courthouse remains a vital hub of government
and civic life in Lincoln, Illinois, serving as a reminder of
the county's prosperity and growth over the years. Its
designation as a historic landmark and inclusion on the National
Register of Historic Places underscore its cultural significance
and enduring legacy.
The Durable Restoration Company extends its gratitude
to the Logan County community for entrusting us with this important
project and looks forward to continuing our commitment to preserving
America's architectural heritage.
