On Tuesday
afternoon the creek was definitely “out” at
Kickapoo Creek park on the north side of
Lincoln. The park was closed to motorists, but a
few brave souls found ways to get a little
closer to the flow in spite of the lack of a
vehicle.
The videos taken by Karen Castelein show just
how fast the water was moving in the creek. And
that makes this a good time to remind folks that
even though water is high in local creeks and
rivers, the water is also moving quite fast,
making it a less than ideal time to be out in a
canoe or kayak.
