The Lincoln Railsplitters honored eight outstanding seniors on Tuesday night at Mike Curry Field, ahead of their game against the Eisenhower Panthers.

Coach August Casson put all eight seniors on the field for the Railsplitters while Karson Komnick and Griffin Shaw each shared catching duties behind the plate.

Those eight seniors honored before the game were: Colbie Glenn, Michael Lucas, Jarrett Evers, Brenden Wurth, Trey Schilling, Wyatt Mammen, Dyllan Ferguson and Wes Tedrick.

Dyllan Ferguson pitched the four-inning game for Lincoln, allowing just one hit and one walk. He struck out six batters as the winning pitcher.

The Railsplitters scored the first three runs of the game on four consecutive walks and numerous wild pitches and stolen bases. There was even a balk in the inning as the Panthers were struggling from the first pitch.

Wes Tedrick got the Railsplitters first hit on Senior Night. It was a hard hit line drive that traveled into right field to start the second inning. Tedrick moved around the bases quickly after a steal of second and a wild pitch. He scored on Colbie Glenn’s sacrifice fly. After Michael Lucas was hit by a pitch, Jarrett Evers crushed a single to right. Griffin Shaw and Lucas came home to score to make the score 6-0. Brenden Wurth found a pitch to hit and he singled to center to make the score 7-0.

The bottom of the third inning saw Lincoln score three more times. Komnick had an RBI single, Lucas had an RBI sacrifice fly and then Evers got a hold of a pitch he really liked and he knocked it all the way to the fence in right field. Evers flew around the bases, sliding into third for a triple, as the dugout went crazy. The inning ended with Lincoln on top 10-0.

Schilling started the bottom of the fourth inning with a double to center and this was just the beginning of Lincoln getting ready to score five more runs. After Wyatt Mammen was hit by a pitch, Ferguson walked to load the bases. Tedrick singled to short to bring Schilling home. Shaw then reached on an error after his fly ball to left field and that scored two more runs. Tedrick and Shaw scored the last two runs of the game. Tedrick raced home on a wild pitch and Shaw scored on Glenn’s base hit to center.

The Railsplitters end this one early on Senior Night, 15-0 the score in four innings.

Wes Tedrick and Jarrett Evers were the heavy hitters for Lincoln on Senior Night.

Tedrick was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Evers was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Glenn, Wurth, Schilling and Komnick each had a hit for Lincoln.

In all honesty, the Panthers pitching staff struggled to find the strike zone and in fact had nine wild pitches, eight walks and two hit batters in the game.

Lincoln improved to 13-7 on the season.

Lincoln will play at New Berlin today at 4:30 p.m.
