They scored six runs, including a fifth inning
home run by Brenden Wurth. When the dust settled Lincoln picked
up a 6-0 win and improved their record to 14-7 on the season.
After Glenn’s lead-off home run, the Railsplitters scored again
in the first inning. Jarrett Evers singled, Wurth walked and
Drew Hayes batted in a run on a sacrifice fly.
Lincoln held a 2-0 lead until the fifth inning, when they tacked
on more runs.
Glenn and Evers each walked and Michael Lucas singled with one
out in the inning. Glenn scored on a wild pitch and with two
runners still on base, Wurth smacked a three-run home run to
right field to give Lincoln a 6-0 lead.
That was more than enough offense to earn Carson Fuiten the
complete game win. Fuiten worked seven innings, allowing four
hits and one walk. He struck out three.
Colbie Glenn and Michael Lucas each led Lincoln with two hits.
Jarrett Evers and Brenden Wurth each had one hit.
Lincoln will host Peoria Notre Dame today at 4:30 p.m.
