Service: A celebration of life will be held in Lincoln at a later date

Donna Mae Farnam, 80, of Atlanta, passed away May 2, 2024 , surrounded by her family, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held in Lincoln at a later date and burial will be at a later date in Tennessee beside her husband.

Donna was born June 26, 1943, in Almond, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jay Raymond Newby and Dorothy Mae (Skilling) Newby. She married Chalmers ( Lee) Farnam on March 27, 1965. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2009.

Donna was employed at Myers Industries for more than 30 years. She was a foster grandparent at Christian Child Care for several years. Family was everything to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna enjoyed sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and her grandson Josh.

Survivors include her children: Eileen Jones and Brenda (Paul) Goodwin; grandchildren: Joshua Farnam, Matthew (Samantha) Kennett, Nicholas (Lyndsey) Shehorn, Lucas (Tasha) Jones, and Hope (Brandon) Duffey; great grandchildren: Noah Kennett, William Kennett, Gavin Shehorn, Benton Shehorn, and Avery Duffey; brother Richard (Gloria) Newby; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and her canine companions Buffy and Dolly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Diana Firkins, son Carl Farnam, sister Ruth Ann Stagnolia, brother Leland Newby, and canine companion Heidi.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
