Taryn Stoltzenburg, Lincoln’s center fielder
who is going on to play college softball at Webster University
in St. Louis, was honored prior to the game along with managers
Madison McIntosh and Alyssa Bishop.
It was a tough day at the plate for Lincoln, with the only run
coming in the bottom of the third inning when Stoltzenburg and
Grey Gilbert each singled. Stoltzenburg was able to steal third
and score on a sacrifice fly by Regan Kutz. But with Tri-Valley
already on the board in the early innings, the score was 4-1
when Stoltzenburg crossed home.
The Vikings added two more runs in the game and walked away 6-1
winners.
Lincoln had six hits in the game, with Stoltzenburg getting two
of those hits on Senior Night.
Grey Gilbert, Kelsey Marten, Madisen Wurth and Morgan Sheley
each recorded one hit.
Madisen Wurth started the game for Lincoln. She worked two
innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs. She struck
out four batters.
Regan Kutz tossed five innings, allowing three hits and two
unearned runs. She walked one and struck out four.
The Railers fall to 10-17 and will play at Decatur MacArthur
today at 4:30 p.m.
