[May 08, 2024]  LINCOLN - Daniel W. Underwood, 73, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Gathering of family and friends:  Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Knight’s of Columbus #1250 in Lincoln.

Daniel W. Underwood, 73, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.


A gathering of Dan’s family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Knight’s of Columbus #1250 in Lincoln.

Burial will in Forever Home Cemetery in Lincoln at a later date..

Daniel William Underwood was born on July 20, 1950 in Lincoln the son of Thomas E. and Mary Ann (Liesman) Underwood. He was united in marriage to Brenda Brown on January 12, 1977. She survives.

Also surviving are his siblings: Patricia M. Eimer, Nancy Ann Miller, Donna (Doug) Klawitter, Steve (Mary) Bratcher, Jo (Gene) Johnson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, niece Lori Chapman and nephew Terry Cox.

Funeral Director

Dan graduated from the Hartsburg Emden High School in 1968.
He retired from the Lincoln Development Center after 33 years of service. He also had various jobs over the years including Lincoln Courier, FBFM, and the Logan County Fair.

Dan was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

A member of the Lincoln Elks Lodge # 914, he was the Golf Committee chair for ten years.

Dan loved his great nieces and nephews, sporting events, enjoyed gathering with family and friends and didn't know a stranger.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Logan County or Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
