[May 06, 2024]    Saturday evening, May 4th was the third and final high school prom grand March in Logan County, held in the gymnasium at Mt Pulaski High School.

The event is typically held on the lawn of the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse, but this year was moved to the school gymnasium because the courthouse’s front steps are being replaced and that area is currently closed to the public.

The evening began with the bleachers filling quickly with parents, grandparents, other family members and friends who were there to see their stunning junior and senior high schoolers parade across the basketball court in their finest attire.

The gents in the group mostly appeared to favor light gray and black for their prom attire, but accented it well, many with colors that precisely matched the young lady they would accompany to the prom later in the evening.

There were a few standouts such as one young man who chose to wear his black western hat and another who opted for a pink bandana that matched well with the gown of his date.

For the ladies, there was a predominance of black, shades of red and shades of blue with a few unique colors thrown in the mix. All in all, it was a colorful and lovely assembly of young adults who received loud applause and cheers from the bleachers as they came front and center.

At the end of the march ten young people were called back out onto the floor and introduced as the 2024 Prom Court.

They were introduced in pairs starting with:

Kenneth Cooper and Ella Bobell,

Nolan Deibert and Ellen Vogel,

Alec Martin and Grace Davis,

Landon Smith and Scout Tschantz,

and Kellem Wilham and Emarie Willis.

After the grand march the prom event was held in Lincoln at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

As the prom attendees arrived at the hall they were asked to vote for their prom king and queen. Later in the evening it was announced that the 2024 Mt. Pulaski High School royalty were King Nolan Deibert and Queen Grace Davis.
