Lincoln tops Decatur MacArthur 16-4

The Railsplitters had a big day at the plate on Tuesday, hammering out 14 hits versus the Decatur MacArthur Generals while picking up a 16-4 win at Mike Curry Field.

Lincoln started their half of the first inning with three consecutive hits. Colbie Glenn singled, Michael Lucas singled and Jarrett Evers doubled to put Lincoln up 2-0. Evers scored the third run when the right fielder made an error on the hit by Drew Hayes.

Dyllan Ferguson led off the second inning for Lincoln with a double. The courtesy runner for Ferguson, Tate Johnston, scored on a sacrifice fly and Lincoln took a 4-0 lead.

The Generals tied the game 4-4 in the top of the fourth inning.

Lincoln scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. They busted the game open thanks to singles by Brenden Wurth, Trey Schilling, Wes Tedrick, Michael Lucas, Jarrett Evers and Drew Hayes. Wurth actually singled twice in the inning. Hayes and Schilling also had two-run doubles in the huge inning. Three walks were a help too.

With Carson Fuiten shutting down the Generals in the fifth inning, he earned the victory. Fuiten worked two innings in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two.

Dyllan Ferguson started the game for Lincoln. He allowed four runs on two hits. Only two runs were earned. He walked two and struck out eight.

Five guys had two hits apiece for Lincoln.

Michael Lucas was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Jarrett Evers was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Brenden Wurth was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Drew Hayes was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Trey Schilling was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored.

Colbie Glenn, Griffin Shaw, Wes Tedrick and Dyllan Ferguson each had one hit.

Lincoln improved to 17-8 on the season.
