Mt. Pulaski Seniors earn $433,296 in scholarships

On Tuesday evening, Mount Pulaski High School hosted its annual senior recognition night. The teachers, administrators, students, family and friends came together to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of eighteen seniors.

Recipients of 22 scholarships and four academic awards were announced in addition to the Senior of the Year. The students recognized were noted for their hard work, dedication, perseverance. Through the generosity of the scholarship sponsors and presenters, a total of $433,296 in scholarships was awarded.

Scholarship awards:

($750 per semester)

School Scholarships:

Emarie Willis will attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She has received two full-ride scholarships: the SIU-E Provost Scholarship totaling $56,568 and the SIU-E Cougar Pride Scholarship totaling $72,568. Each one will cover all four years.

Ella Bobell will attend Blackhawk East College. She has received a full-ride scholarship from Blackhawk for $64,340.

Scout Tschantz will attend Lincoln Land Community College and has been accepted into the LLCC Trustees Honors Program. She has received a scholarship totaling $8400 that will cover full tuition for up to 60 hours.

Ethan Buenrostro will attend Millikin University. He received four scholarships totaling $55,000: the academic excellence scholarship for $10,000 a year for four years, the Millikin Difference Scholarship that will $3000 a year for four years, the Millikin Housing Scholarship for $2500 for one year and the Big Blue Pledge for $250 a year for four years.

Alec Martin will attend Lincoln Land Community College. He was awarded the Neal and Diana Jordan Workforce Scholarship for $3000 towards the Lineman Program he will be completing.
