Chris Glick to present program on Lincoln Asylum at May meeting of Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society

[May 18, 2024]    Chris Glick will be presenting the storied history of the Lincoln Asylum for Feeble-Minded Children from its infancy, to its rise into a self-sufficient community, to its demise with the stroke of a pen.

Glick, a Logan County native and 20 year Navy veteran. spent six years working in mental health at the Clyde L. Choate Developmental Center in Anna, but has always honed an interest in the history of the Lincoln Developmental Center.

He will also talk about changes which happened in the care of mental health patients during period of time.

The LCGHS Lincoln State School collection will also be on display, although a portion of the collection is on display at the Logan County Tourism Bureau.

The public is invited to his presentation, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society, 114 N. Chicago St., in Lincoln, located across from the Depot. Refreshments will be served following a brief business meeting.
