Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor:
The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary
would like to thank all who volunteered on Poppy Days on Memorial
weekend by distributing the poppies. Without their help, Poppy Days
would have not been possible.
We would also like to thank the businesses that
allowed the volunteers to stand at their stores – Walmart, Farm &
Home, Ace Hardware, and Lincoln IGA.
Thanks to the City of Lincoln for allowing our
volunteers to be present at Broadwell and McLean Streets on
Saturday.
[to top of second column in this letter] |
Poppy Days is such an important fundraiser for the
work that is done for our Veterans.
We especially would like to thank all those that
donated for their poppies and helped make the Poppy Days a great
success and a wonderful way to support and honor our veterans.
