Obituary
Tracy Ann Grundy, 64, of Peoria
(formerly of Taylorville and Morrisonville), passed
away on Monday, October 28th, 2024, at Carle Health
Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing
of Tracy Ann Grundy (Pharis).
Tracy was born on February 3rd, 1960, to Gerald
Pharis and Joan Kay Stahly (Reinders/Pharis/Heisler)
in Lincoln.
Tracy graduated from beauty school in 1979 and went
on to lead a beauty school in Decatur and later
owned her own salon in Morrisonville. She loved
being a part of the community and had many friends
in the Morrisonville/Taylorville area. She was a
generous, kind and loving person that never met a
stranger. She had a joke or story to tell everyone.
In fact, her family teased her about it. We often
said that she had so many stories that we could call
her Mother Goose! She thrived at family holidays or
reunions as she lived for the family.
Tracy married Bernie Grundy. They enjoyed watching
Tracy’s daughter Megan DeFoor who was a cheerleader
and volleyball player at Morrisonville HS.
In 2002, she lost Megan in a car
accident. This was a devastating loss, but she
managed through the pain and carried on. She became
a second mom to her niece Christina and nephew Kyle
which they loved. |
Later, she connected with two
children she had previously given up for adoption,
Eric and Mary. She was thankful to get to meet them
and see them thriving in their own lives.
Tracy has fond memories of her time in Mt. Pulaski
and often spoke of fun she had in high school and on
the square.
Tracy is survived by her husband Bernie, mother Joan
Stahly (stepfather John), sisters Lynnette Maske
(Mike) and Natalie Gingrey (Bill), niece Christina
Bray (Richard), nephew Kyle (Dana), great niece
Sophia and great nephew Beau, and also her other
children: Eric Webster and Mary Leonardis.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Megan, her
father and grandparents.
Graveside Services for Tracy will be at 2 p.m.
Friday, November 1st, 2024, at Morrisonville
Cemetery, Morrisonville.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan
County .
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski
has been entrusted with arrangements.
