[October 28, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Jack Lee Tucker, age 83, of Lincoln, IL, passed tragically on October 26, 2024. Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Service: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3956 Lourdes Drive in Decatur, IL. on Thursday October 31, 2024 at 2 p.m.

Obituary

Jack Lee Tucker, age 83, of Lincoln, IL, passed tragically on October 26, 2024. Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3956 Lourdes Drive in Decatur, IL. on Thursday October 31, 2024 at 2 p.m.

Jack was born on November 29, 1940 in rural Macon. He was the son of Tommie & Virginia (Ireland) Tucker.

He graduated from Argenta Oreana High School in 1959. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne. He most recently worked for Ron’s Towing. He was a mechanic by trade and was gifted at small engine repair. He was exceptionally smart. He loved to work with his hands and enjoyed being in nature. He loved to ride motorcycles and read western books. Jack loved his family and instilled a hard work ethic in his children. He was a loving father and grandfather.
 

The lessens he taught his children made them who they are today. Jack loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include Scott (Bev) Tucker, Seth (Lynn) Tucker, Skye (Lawrence) Jones, Spencer Tucker( Rashenia) , Sarah (Brian) Fitzpatrick and Sierra Tucker; one brother, Thomas (Ilene) Tucker; grandchildren: Anthony, Tommy, Abraham, Lane, John, Allison “ Willo”, Wesley, and Isabella; one great granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son Shannon Tucker, and sisters Betty Swinger, Wilma Jean Brown, and Barbara Collin’s.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
